Visitor parking is rarely just about finding a space. Access security, guest reception, site traffic flow, and on-the-ground order all depend on knowing that space's status before the visitor's car ever reaches the gate. When reserved and available bays aren't visible in real time, visitors may park in the wrong space while staff repeatedly check reservation lists, notify security, or reassign spots.

As visitor volume grows, that manual coordination tends to produce uneven bay use, longer waits at entry, and heavier communication load on frontline staff. A visitor who parks in the wrong space can trigger more than an inconvenience: security may need to step in to redirect them, and depending on how the site's access zones are set up, sorting it out can become more than a simple parking fix.

Solution

One LED Pole: Red for Reserved, Green for Open

P02-LW LoRaWAN parking sensors were installed at managed visitor bays to detect occupancy, paired with pole-mounted LED indicators so status reads as a color any driver can pick up on sight.

The system works with reservation logic: red means a bay is reserved or unavailable, green means it's open. Sensing and reservation data travel over LoRaWAN to the management platform, giving staff a shared, real-time view of reserved, available, and occupied bays.

Guest Arrival Finally Follows a Fixed Script

The moment a visitor shows ID at the gate, security and the front desk already see which bay to send them to, without a radio call back and forth. Staff can also judge faster whether guidance, a hold, or reassignment is needed.

For the park operator, the benefit goes beyond less manual communication: visitor parking gains a traceable routine that someone is accountable for, while security screening and guest hospitality both stay on track.
