NHR is highlighting a feed-storage monitoring project in Chile where real-time humidity information helps the operator protect grain quality and respond to unfavorable warehouse conditions sooner.
Monitoring risk across storage areas
High humidity can damage stored feed, but manual inspection may not identify a problem early enough. The project deployed 120 wireless temperature and humidity sensors across the storage areas. The devices continuously collect environmental readings and send them to the SentrolCloud management platform.
Supervisors can review conditions for multiple locations through one interface and configure out-of-limit alerts. When humidity moves beyond an acceptable threshold, the system prompts the team to inspect the affected area and take action before the condition persists.
From routine checks to exception-based management
Continuous monitoring reduces dependence on repeated manual rounds and makes it easier to focus attention where it is needed.
By combining a distributed sensor network with a centralized dashboard and alerts, the project gives the storage operator a more practical way to limit avoidable feed loss and maintain suitable conditions across the facility.
