NHR Smart Parking Sensors Operate Reliably in DMCC's Extreme Heat

NHR is revisiting its smart parking deployment at Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), where space-level sensing supports real-time parking availability in demanding Middle Eastern conditions.

Reliable information for visitors and employees

The project uses NHR smart parking sensors with NB-IoT communication to identify whether individual spaces are occupied or vacant. Live availability data helps the parking operation present a clearer view of open spaces and reduces the time visitors and employees spend searching within the site.

The environment also presented an important hardware requirement: sustained operation during extremely hot weather. The deployed sensors are designed to withstand temperatures up to 60°C, allowing them to continue reporting parking status during peak summer conditions.

Smart infrastructure built for its environment

A connected parking system is only useful when field devices remain dependable. Combining rugged sensor design, wireless communication, and current availability information gives DMCC a practical foundation for more efficient parking operations.

The deployment demonstrates NHR's approach to smart-city infrastructure: match the sensing technology to the physical environment, then turn reliable field data into a simpler experience for both operators and users.
